Sápmi Sisters

A four-part documentary series following the two Sami sisters Maxida and Mimie Märak. Maxida is a rapper, joiker and actress, while Mimie is devoted to poetry slam and spoken word. They both live in Jokkmokk in northern Sweden, fighting for the rights of the Sami people.

The series also depicts the clashes between the Sami people and the mining companies. The discussion about the role of the Sami culture in the Swedish society is more infected than ever, and the Märak sisters are in the frontline, always standing up for the rights of the Samis.
