Door Code is a web drama series about friendship, love and self respect. Both seasons has been tremendous successes when shown in Sweden, particularly among teenage girls.
In the first season,16-year-olds Agnes and Steph suddenly become step sisters when their parents fall madly in love. When the parents decide to travel abroad the whole summer they leave Agnes and Steph behind, in an apartment in central Stockholm.
Agnes and Steph are total opposites and initially they hate each other. But now they’re in the same boat and need to cooperate to make things work, which is easier said than done.
The girls summer together is lined with both euphoria and painful disappointments. They experience love and partying, but they also learn about self respect and how to take charge of their own lives.
When we meet Steph and Agnes in the second season, nearly three years have passed and they are only months away from graduating from high school. But whereas the conflict between them last season arose from their clashing personalities, this time their friendship is threatened by external traumas.
Door Code has really succeeded in connecting with the hard to reach 13 to 19 year olds. The key to this has always been authenticity, from casting, dialogue, and storyline, to the look, music, and feel of the series.
Door Code is not only following the online viewing revolution in Sweden, it is leading it...
